Was discovered in 1972 by "guaqueros" (Colombian treasure hunters) and the archeological reconstruction was completed between the years 1976 and 1982.  The Arhuacos, Koguis and Wiwas believed it was the heart of a network of villages of the Tayronas. The Lost City consists of a series of 169 terraces, a net of tiled roads and small circular plazas. Entrance is only possible by climbing around 1200 stone steps through the jungle.

How to get there from Caoba?


Public transport: Take a Moto Taxi to the main road and we can organize a meeting point with them at the main road. In this case, you don't have to go to Santa Marta.


Duration: to the main Road is 60 minutes.  The duration of the entire trip can be from 4 to 6 days depending on which specialized tour you select.
